New Zealand Wine Fair - New Zealand in a Glass was held in Ottawa on May 8, 2012 at John G. Diefenbaker Building (Old City Hall). It only comes around every two years so I jumped at the chance to attend trade portion of this fantastic event. I tasted as much as my palate would allow. Thankfully my ability to take pictures far outlasts my sipping & spitting since there were so many sparklings, whites and reds to choose from.
Wineries included: Akarua, Astrolabe Wines, Babich Wines, Churton, Constellation New Zealand, Coopers Creek Vineyard, Fairhall Down Estate Wines, Giesen Wines, Hunter's Wines (NZ), Jackson Estate, Marisco Vineyards, Matua Valley Wines, Mt. Difficulty Wines, Mud House Wines, Oyster Bay Wines NZ, Pernod Ricard New Zealand (Brancott & Stoneleigh), Rock Ferry Wines, Sacred Hill Wines, Te Mara Estate, Villa Maria Estate, Waimea Estates, Whitehaven Wine Company and Yealands Estate.

The following wines were in a separate room where we self-poured (yes, I said self-poured) and discovered various Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Hawke's Bay Syrah, Gimblett Gravels Syrah and Waiheke Island Syrah. You may note that I've taken pics of the tasting notes.
I hope you have enjoyed my tour of New Zealand Wine Fair. See you in two years!
